Government, as everyone knows, holds a monopoly on education in this country, and because of that monopoly, our publicly funded schools operate at a dismal standard — and they do so, moreover, with complete impunity. The following story is for all those who never tire of telling me how great our public institutions are; how we couldn’t live without them; how a fully free society could not possibly provide fire departments, post offices, roads, and schools.
A crime has been committed here, but not by Kelley Williams-Bolar.
On the contrary, she and her daughter are the victims of this absurd malefaction. Watch:
As an educator, this is totally disgusting. School of choice is appropriate for exactly this type of inequality among schools. It’s everywhere – even in school districts in affluent areas – where inequality exists in the technology, education, and financial means provided for schools. She was doing what she deems equal – giving her children the best opportunity to gain an education that will take them away from the climate that is in their current neighborhood. She should be esteemed rather than put in jail. Where does it end?? Don’t even get me started on the judicial system…. C’mon man! :)
Thank you for your comment, Ms. Maura, and thank you for dropping by.
