In 2009, the so-called Individual Mandate was, according to Barack Obama (and I quote), “absolutely NOT a tax increase”.
Listen:
Magically, however, in 2012, two short days ago, in fact, that exact same Individual Mandate was, according that exact same Barack Obama, after all a tax:
Barack Obama: “By the way, if you’ve got health insurance, you’re not getting hit by a tax,” the president said during his Friday rally in Roanoke, his third Virginia campaign event of the day. “The only thing that’s happening to you is that you now have more security because insurance companies can’t drop you when you get sick.”
Give them enough rope, they hang themselves every time.
This is one area where I really wish Romney would be able to use the numerous lies Obama has used to push this thing against him. Obamacare, will consist of 1/6th our economy. So, this is definitely an economy issue, along with horrible national security policies and relations are the two tools “alone” that that Romney could use to tar n feather Barry with. But its not happening. Why ?
In a way Romney ( not my favorite pick) excluding the amount of lies was/is in the same boat on a state level concerning Romneycare.
I’m not sure exactly what the similarities are between the two except for the fact that they’re both socialist policies with or without mandates/taxes/fines/penalties.
Romney may tell us he had changed his mind, telling himself and everyone his intention was a mistake, hes seen the light, bla, bla, bla.
But if so was that reversal expedient or not until he realized he’d be a candidate ?
As I said, I’m not 100% sure what Romneys bill looked like. It might of been great for Massachusetts itself. But, I’m pretty sure had it not been for Romneycare Romney could be beating Obama over the head with his own flawed policy.
But he isnt so I can only hope its the tightrope act he needs so much that he’s honing right now or maybe will dodge the issue as much as possible.
Oh well, just a thought from someone whos been up 5 minutes
